Verbal Test Directions
The verbal portion of the exam uses four different question types. Before you begin your Diagnostic Test, make sure that you are familiar with all three.
Antonyms
In questions of this type consist of a capitalized word or phrase followed by five words or phrases. You are supposed to pick the word or phrase that is more nearly opposite in meaning the the capitalized word or phrase.

Analogies
Example: CANOPY:SHELTER::

- laurels:victory
- scalpel:surgeon
- agenda:item
- shield:protection
The fifth answer is correct.
Sentence Completion
Example: Spontaneous applause interrupted the performance several times, and a ---- standing ovation at its conclusion signaled the ---- of the audience.
- tepid . . hope
- thunderous . . enthusiasm
- rousing . . indifference
- fractious . . predilection
- classic . . pretension
The second answer is correct.
